New Lab Launched By 493K Technical Team

493K International has announced the opening of its new laboratory and test facility in Northampton, England. Currently based in Northern Ireland, the opening of this mainland UK facility strengthens 493K’s customer service capacity, and extends its service range.

Dr Gareth McDowell, Managing Director, 493K International, said: “493K’s Northampton unit was developed to respond to the needs of our expanding consultancy business, which began in early 2009. From a series of niche projects we started to see a steady increase in demand for rotomoulding-specific knowledge and expertise; the kind of expertise that we can provide with our highly experienced and knowledgeable consultants.”

“This constantly growing client base has necessitated the establishment of a purpose-made laboratory facility, enabling us to carry out testing tailored to meet the needs of our customers. We are currently completing installation of a full range of small-scale and large-scale test equipment, including several purpose-made test rigs for physical performance evaluation of full-size rotomoulded products.” 

“With a long history of successful product and process development in the rotational moulding industry, our consultancy team is able to tackle a wide range of problems and challenges. Whether it be materials development, a machinery issue, or a new idea for a rotomoulded product, 493K is ready to meet the challenges presented to us.” 

Dr McDowell added: “Over the past 15 months, we have worked with moulders, designers, materials suppliers, machinery manufacturers and OEM / end-users, and we are confident that we can effectively tackle any rotomoulding-related challenge.”
