April saw the launch of 493K's new K-KONTROL EXPORT PACK bringing high temperature sliprings to the rotomoulding production market. Aimed at the SME sector, K-KONTROL EXPORT PACK comes with all the benefits of K-Kontrol but is designed with affordability, self-installation, two temperature channels, and easy replaceable parts all for the production environment.

Self-installed or if you prefer, by a 493K engineer, it is effectively maintenance free and any spares can be fitted by the moulder - so if you are in the middle of production you don't have to send across the globe for an engineer. K-KONTROL EXPORT PACK comes in one size and so it can be kept in stock and be in your factory in less than 4 weeks. The sliprings are bolted or welded at approximately 500mm diameter around the circumference of the plate. Wiring is simple through the arm of most machines; any difficult routing can be discussed prior to taking delivery. K-KONTROL EXPORT PACK affords the moulder much more flexibility so that they themselves become the expert in installation - knowledge is transferred into the hands of the customer - the preferred option of any well-bred rotomoulder.

CACCIA S.P.A. STANDS AMONG THE GIANTS

Caccia Engineering S.p.A. of Samarate in Italy has built the largest carousel machine in Europe, and probably in the world. The giant 4 independent arm machine can mould up to spherical diameters of 6000 mm. It has been supplied with one offset arm capable of moulding 2,200 kg up to a volume of 47,500 litres and three straight arms each capable of moulding 4,000 kg up to a volume of 2 x 35,000 litres. The machine's footprint is just 20 X 25 metres and it comes with a modulating flame GPL burner with maximum power output of 3,490 KW and an average gas consumption of 2,992,600 Kcalh (13,843,600 Btuh). The cooling chamber is fitted with 4 ACQUAMATIC high efficiency cooling fans and two mist extractors. With a total motor power of 234 KW, it has an average electrical consumption of just 195 KWh.
