machine manufacturer, Caccia Engineering S.p.A., has added another
string to its bow with a new integrated systems solution from
493K. 493K recently joined Caccia at Düsseldorf’s ‘K 2004’
exhibition to launch K-Kontrol as part of Caccia's rotomoulding
machines. Caccia's integration of K-Kontrol is enhanced through its
Easy Drive System, which includes the possibility of automatic arm
positioning at unloading and loading stations. Also available are
digital control Weishaupt burners on machines up to 3500mm
spherical diameter and control panel page readout with remote assistance
via telephone modem. Caccia’s Sales Manager Eng. Paolo Legnani,
said: "These system enhancements will continue to help us to
achieve significant progress in our European, Middle Eastern and Asian
markets".

 DynamiKventing,
our new technology presented at the 29th annual fall meeting of
the Association of Rotational Moulders, held in October in
Cleveland, Ohio, has generated considerable interest among
rotomoulders. DynamiKventing provides a new, safer approach to
mould pressurisation through the use of air pulses. Research has
shown that pulsed air ensures that the pressure inside the mould
does not reach critical levels. Furthermore no reduction in
performance as compared with constant pressurisation is observed.

 K-paq
offers portability by conveniently attaching to a rotational
mould, measuring mould pressure via the vent pipe and mould
temperature via k-type thermocouples. It does this in real
time, transmitting the data via radio, allowing the moulder to identify faults immediately and
observe the response of the mould to changes in processing
variables. K-Paq now comes in a permanent protection package for
continual cycling within a rotomoulding oven. We have sacrificed
some of K-Paq's original compact size to bring moulders an
alternative to K-Kontrol. As a larger unit, K-Paq can now
cycle continuously using replaceable ice packs; updated electronics mean a separate K-Paq
can now be used on each arm communicating with one master receiver
thus offering total machine control. Read

New Appointment at 493K
 Dr
Raji Khouri has been appointed as Product Research &
Development Engineer with UK-based 493K. Dr Khouri has recently
been awarded a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with
emphasis on Rotational Moulding of Plastics, from The Queen’s
University, Belfast, in the UK. Having achieved his B.Sc. in
Mechanical engineering from the University of Jordan, Dr Khouri
spent 4 years engineering air-conditioning and control systems for
building services. 493K
